To paint, you need colors. When you mix two colors, you get contrast. The DJ/producer-duo twocolors is full of contrasts, just like their city of Berlin, where the two musicians met in 2015. Constantly exploring in search of sonic excellence and magic. Alternative and underground influences but also pop and mainstream culture and music. Those two strong opposites are what their sound is anchored in. Aiming for a new symbiosis of driving electro and melodic pop. Never losing sight of their mission to entertain and make people dance. The journey has begun. You are welcome to come along. And you don’t even have to choose a color.
TWOCOLORS INTERVIEW WITH FRANKIE SALT
What is unique about the place you live, or is it famous for something?
Berlin is very famous for many things, historically, but for us it is amazing to be living in a city with so much music history, from Marlene Dietrich, via David Bowie, Depeche Mode, the birth of Techno and today?s exciting music culture which attracts people from all over the world!
Through lockdown, what has been your favourite thing to do at the weekend?
It’s been so busy for us we have either been in the studio recording, writing or mixing or doing promo like interviews, socials, ID’s, etc. – it’s been non-stop! And when we have time off, we go work out or sleep!
Have you visited any wicked local glamping or wild sites throughout lockdown?
We went to a really nice island off the Northern Coast of Germany, however we did stay at a house. And Berlin has a lot of great lakes around for walks and weekend hangs, so we have been doing that whenever we have time!
Any side hustles or skills you want to share with us?
Pierro loves to cook and has amazing robo-dance skills.
Emil is behind all of twocolors’ art and videos. Also, we are both pretty ambitious comedians.
What cheeky banger has been playing through your speakers on repeat for the last 6 months?
Joel Corry & MNEK – Head & Heart has been playing here like mad!
Favourite Friday night dinner at home or restaurant?
Either Italian, Asian or home cooked traditional food. Both our families and many of our friends are big foodies so that side is covered!
What current projects are you working on?
We just released our remix of Topic Feat. Lil Baby’s “Why do you lie to me”, finishing three other remixes, and working on our next single which will be out in 2021! And a few more surprises we cannot yet shout about!
